2009 Northeast APOC Conference Mission Statement
No doubt in the days since we last gathered together as APOC (Autonomous/Anarchist/Anti-Authoritarian People of Color), much has changed for each of us. We've each experienced new joys and grieves, up and downs. Across the vastness of this metropolitan wasteland, new bonds have been built, old bonds strengthened. In surviving, even thriving against the transgressions perpetrated by those who would see us torn apart, we've developed both as individuals and as a movement.

"Direct Action = Solidarity. Confront the Bankers in April!"
The NorthEast Anarchist Network is endorsing the "Self Described Anarchist Collective" and Global Justice Action calls for a diversity of tactics, including direct action, to disrupt the Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington, DC. Even in this era of uncontrolled economic retraction and collapse, the IMF and World Bank continue to reach for their misleading, self-proclaimed objective of "eradicating poverty", while paradoxically ignoring the needs of poor and indigenous communities.

THE CONFLUENCE is a week long event where we will come together to share ideas and skills, strengthen our relationships, and create solutions to take care of our basic needs. There will be workshops, performances, trainings and strategy sessions about the issues affecting our communities and our planet, from prisons and police brutality to food sovereignty, health care and disaster relief. It will also include a day of action in coordination with similar gatherings around the world.
