Website Features, Updates and Tips

Hello everyone!

I've been working through the site to add more features, and here is a quick update on what you can find now!

Some features may only be available to registered users...so sign up!

• I got a ride share board up (based on a craigslist style module)
• I activated the forums - more forums will be added, but users can post in the boards that are there now
• I started working on syndicating all the northeast IMCs on the website - check under "News."
• I've been toying with the appearance of the website, as you probably noticed...
• Members of the web committee have started getting a list of links together, which can be found with the "Links" link at the top of the page
• The search feature is now functional, so use as you wish
• Webgroups, Projects, Mutual Aid wishlists, Blogs, Downloads have all been functional, so try them out. Webgroups and projects could be pretty useful for committees and working groups in the network - if you would like a "webgroup" created for your committee or working group let me know.

Also remember to check the calendar for events (and add your own). When posting a new page, story, etc. here are a few tips:

• You don't need to use all the html - lines break automatically, and URLs will become hyperlinks automatically. To change HTML settings, click "Input Format"
• URL Path and Menu settings come in handy to keep the site organized. Generally, the URL paths follow menu navigation - ie, a page listed under news could be news/pagename
• Check your publishing options before saving...please only promote relevant items to the front page. If you have not checked "Published" it will still show up when you are signed in, but anonymous users will not see the page
