Christians Creating Fear Through Prayer While Dining
It doesn't take me long to figure out, who the die-hard Christians actually are. Whether I am at a restaurant eating breakfast, walking through a park, talking to someone over the phone or explaining my religious beliefs to a group of people. These people are often easy to spot and seemed to carry their religious beliefs around, like a warrior carries his sword into battle.
Last week I was eating dinner with a group of people, when one woman bowed her head and silently prayed to herself, letting everyone at the table no that she was a Christian. This woman prays at almost every meal and sometimes, requests that we all pray together.
There is nothing wrong with this, but often this creates a different environment, for those who are easily intimidated. Sometimes these environments are unfriendly and other times, these environments create fear. Now you're probably wondering, how anyone could create fear by simply saying a silent prayer.
Let's say that you're eating with a beautiful woman or a large intimidating man who looks like a football player or it could even be someone whom you look up to. The minute that these people start to pray, they can create an uneasy atmosphere, for unbelievers or even those who believe in another religion.
I have witnessed some Christians force their beliefs onto others, simply by their physical size, or position within their community or workplace, while I was simply trying to enjoy a nice meal. It might sound a little strange, when I mentioned that people can intimidate others through prayer, while dining, but the next time that you're having breakfast lunch or dinner, pay special attention to how this affects some of the people around you.
I don't find anything wrong with praying, I do however find something wrong with preying on weak minded people. Intimidating religious followers, can be rude and obnoxious and it doesn't bother me one bit, to ask them politely, to save all of their religious recruiting for another time.
If they refuse, don't bother stopping them, simply make a note, never to dine with them again. Change starts one step at a time, by refusing to eat with them again, they might get the message. If they don't, every time they look at you, it will be a reminder to them of their actions.
