ORGANIZING SKILL SHARES!
SESSION #1: Talking about the War: One-on-One
SPC [1]'s Iraq Organizing Committee will facilitate a series of 6 skill shares every other Wednesday beginning on January 30. Informal and interactive, we encourage
anyone who wants to build their organizing skills to participate. Some will focus specifically on antiwar work, many of the skills can be used in any social justice organizing work. Come to all 6 or pick and choose. We welcome people to participate...both to share tips and experiences and to learn from others.
Talking about the War: One-on-One
January 30, 6:30-8:30 PM @Slocum House (208 Slocum Ave.)
Co-presenters: John Burdick, Amber Coon, Alanna Gothard
From staffing an informational table to talking with family, neighbors, co-workers, etc., or responding to passersby during a demonstration, presenters will share some tips and strategies. The group will brainstorm common questions and situations and work together to practice responding. What's the question that you never know how to answer? Have you been frustrated trying to explain your position to friends or co-workers? Come and share your experiences and questions!
