John Zerzan, the leading philosopher of the anti-civilization
movement, will be speaking at Binghamton University on April 2. Zerzan is
most famous for placing the blame for societal ills -- such as school shootings
and the prevalence of depression -- on the origins of agricultural civilization,
symbolic thought, technology and the domestication of animals. Based in
Eugene, Oregon, John Zerzan is the author of four books and has recently
returned from speaking tours in Brazil and Turkey.
Zerzan will be speaking at the Binghamton University Old Union West Lounge
on April 2 at 7pm. He will be speaking on “Modernity and the Technosphere”.
The talk is free and open to the public.
